I tune the warm lit dial. Channels arrive with melodies, news, short wave codes, and European Voice of America. Ham operators calling cards one way only voices bounce off the stratosphere to reach ears.

Technological wonders, handcrafting fixtures of delight brought into existence since WWII. Where is this corner connection now? Long three quarter century ago. Sounds still play some where as an heirloom that never dies.

When as a teen, thinking I knew it all; yet under the covers, many memories are lost to fixture- tubes glow that diminishes into night shows. Only gray-matter, broken dreams, distant times, foreign lands; Dizzie Gillespi’s jazz band, rock ‘n rolls, hip-hop shuttles starship airplanes that keep aloft the night music of ages still seen and heard in a corner cozy machine.
